Biography
Born in Sunderland as Lauren Gofton, she was lead singer and songwriter of moderately successful mid-90s indie group Kenickie. Her quick-wittedness in TV and radio interviews led to a stint presenting C4's Planet Pop and thence to her own XFM show, which she presented until April 2007. Latterly she presented BBC Two's arts programme, The Culture Show, and coverage of events such as the BRIT Awards.
