Biography
One of the most recognisable voices on television, John started his career in the late 1970s on local and national radio, including stints at Radio 1 and Capital Radio. He is best remembered for his dramatic voiceovers on Gladiators, and a pleasant three years helming the BBC daytime quizzer Four Square. He has represented voiceover artists, musicial artistes and presenters, and co-founded the showbiz agent Blackburn Sachs Associates.
Trivia
He describes his voice as "Mid Atlantic, Range 25-60". So now you know.
His father is actor Andrew Sachs, best known for playing Manuel in Fawlty Towers and voice-overing about 18,291 animal documentaries. No, make that 18,292.
He produced The Commentators' (i.e. Rory Bremner's) hit single "N-N-Nineteen (Not Out)" under the pseudonym Joe Quick.
