Biography

Part of a dynasty of television journalists which included his father Richard and older brother David. Jonathan's TV debut was in a forerunner of Holiday called Passport, on which his father travelled to holiday destinations with the family in tow. Later, he became a heavyweight political journalist, presenting Radio 4's Any Questions? from 1987 to 2019 (while David presented the TV equivalent, Question Time, from 1994 to 2018) and ITV's election night programmes in 1997, 2001 and 2005 (opposite David on the Beeb each time), as well as BBC1's On The Record from 1988 to 1993.
