Synopsis
Midweek quiz segment for Welsh-speaking secondary schools as they test their knowledge on contemporary Welsh music - a straight knockout contest involving 32 schools.
Hosts Magi Dodd (previously, Dafydd Du) and Glyn Wise (yes, the cuddly Welsh-speaking runner-up from Big Brother 7) preside from the studios in Cardiff whilst the two teams take part in their home town live via satellite link-up (well, via phone). They take part in four rounds including Who Am I?, the Karaoke round and the quick fire Guess The Song round.
Passable entertainment for a Wednesday night - except when it was moved to a post-midnight timeslot on Thursdays.
After some years in abeyance, Cwis Pop was revived in 2014, and in a more audience-friendly slot at teatime on Friday.
