Synopsis
BBC Radio's answer to University Challenge, with teams from institutions of higher education competing in a knockout format. The pun would have worked better if they'd put it on the Third Programme instead of the Home, but it's too late to do anything about it now.
Not to be confused with National Lottery format The Third Degree or the more recent academic quiz The 3rd Degree.
