Biography
Former Western Mail journalist with a sideline in music, performing with the comic band 'Baby Grand' and composing the score for 'Superted'.
He moved into broadcasting at BBC Radio Wales in 1978, going onto present the breakfast show 'AM' for nearly a decade, before succeeding Ray Moore on Radio 2's early show from 1988 to 1991.
His TV presenting credits included his own chat show for BBC Wales and Cardiff Singer of the World for BBC2.
Chris, and his wife Megan, founded the Cardiff-based indie Presentable, which gave rise to Only Connect and singlehandedly pioneered poker programming.
His death was announced on 10 July 2022, at the age of 73.
Trivia
Chris was the BBC radio commentator at Westminster Abbey for the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997 and the Queen Mother in 2002.
His radio work was wide-ranging - from Radio 2's film magazine show Cinema 2 to coverage of the Commonwealth Games in Auckland and the Saturday afternoon programme Sportstime on Radio Wales.
