Synopsis
Fifteen young single people enter an American high school. They hope to find friendship, love, and a date to the prom. Some pupils may be expelled on the way. The producers aren't prescriptive about sexual orientations.
The winning Prom Kings and/or Queens share a prize of $100,000 (about £77,000).
A puff piece in Broadcast magazine said,
- Amazon Prime Video wanted us to create a totally inclusive show set in a fun, US-themed high school, and to see what happened.
- From assembly to cheer class, baseball to house parties, from camp to a very enthusiastic talent show, our singles were immersed in all the things you’d expect to see in a classic high-school movie.
The producer also spoke about the styling, and the attention paid to minute details. They took over a private school in Devon for three weeks, and isolated themselves from the world so as not to spread nasty diseases.
Narrator is Lindsay Lohan, from Mean Girls and The Parent Trap and the front pages of the tabloids.
