Synopsis
Ten unsigned artists compete in a series of industry-inspired challenges ranging from social media videos to hard hitting press interviews. Throughout the series, the mentors will share a unique insight into how the music industry works and at the end of each episode, they will choose two artists to go head to head and perform a song of their choice to avoid being eliminated.

Key moments
There were some brutal drops in the first episode; the first elimination made Charlie stand up to be admonished before immediately going "Jay you've been dropped", while the second contestant did not even get the opportunity to say goodbye to her erstwhile colleagues after suffering an epileptic seizure and having to be dispatched in absentia.
Trivia
The first artist to be dropped was Jay Scott, who had oozed onto the UK Singles Chart at #85 with Dirty Dancer as a fifth of 2013 The X Factor ninth-placers Kingsland Road.
