Host

Herman the Computer

Broadcast

BBC2, 25 July to 17 October 1993 (13 episodes in 1 series)

Synopsis

Pan-European competition (that also, if we remember correctly, involved Canada). Teams consisted of kids from many different countries to promote peace and co-operation and things like that.

Obviously it would be a big job dubbing the show into all manner of languages so most of the explanation was visual, and most of the games were obstacle course affairs. There was a computery voice that said how points had been scored and which team was winning and had won.

For some reason it was all set-up and controlled by a computer (the screen was framed by lots of computer imagery with the monitor showing us all of the action), hence System I suppose.
