Biography
Former rugby union scrum-half who played domestically for Northampton and Wasps, and was a member of England's 2003 World Cup winning team. He was a team captain on A Question of Sport from 2004 to 2021, surpassing fellow rugby player Bill Beaumont as the show's longest-serving captain in 2018.
Trivia
Won the inaugural series of Celebrity Masterchef in 2006, although it was a close-run thing. Gregg Wallace said in an interview a couple of years later (and on numerous occasions since) that that series' runner-up Hardeep Singh Kohli was "the greatest Masterchef winner that never was".
