A guide to game shows for the nine days commencing Saturday 14 October 2006
+
A very quiet week for game shows: we have A Question of Sport going entertainment (BBC1, 6.50 Sat), the Countdown finals (C4, 2.40 all week), and the television premier of The Hunger Games (C4, 9pm Sat), and we have Tim Vine and Mel Giedroyc on Catchphrase (ITV, 6.25 Sun). And that's it.
-
New and notable this week:
+
Schedules subject to change.
-

+
-
The X Factor (ITV, 5.50pm Saturday)
+
-
:Weighing in at a jaw-dropping two hours, it's abundently clear that ITV is devoid of programming ideas. Bring a pillow, and set the alarm for the second show at 9.10.
+
-

+
-
Cirque de Celebrité (Sky1, 7pm Sunday)
+
-
:Ruby Wax invites various C-list celebrities (including, er, Zammo from Grange Hill) to perform circus stunts. It's a Star Academy for big top performers.
+
-

+
-
The Big Idea (Sky1, 9pm Sunday)
+
-
:Ruth Badger (an Apprentice reject) hosts a Great British Invention competition. As it's shown on a minor cable channel, they can't get HRH Sir Prince Charles for the live final, and will instead rely on an Interactive Viewer Mega Phone-in. First viewer to call in and nominate an invention will determine the winner.
+
-

+
-
It Shouldn't Happen... (ITV, 10pm Tuesday)
+
-
:"On a Hidden Camera Show" this week, with commentators including Dominik Diamond and Jeremy Beadle. And Tony Livesey, who could be a fantastic Countdown host.

TV Guide This Week
TV Guide This Week

Current revision as of 18:49, 6 December 2018

A very quiet week for game shows: we have A Question of Sport going entertainment (BBC1, 6.50 Sat), the Countdown finals (C4, 2.40 all week), and the television premier of The Hunger Games (C4, 9pm Sat), and we have Tim Vine and Mel Giedroyc on Catchphrase (ITV, 6.25 Sun). And that's it.

Schedules subject to change.
