Biography

A graduate of Cambridge University, in his mid-20s Jimmy Carr gave up his job with the oil company Shell to take up comedy. He has a huge following on the stand-up circuit and sells out shows wherever he goes. In recent years he has been one of the more ubiquitous "faces" of Channel 4.

Trivia

According to an anonymous Wikipedia contributor (sadly later reverted), "His manner of smiling broadly, yet slightly unconvincingly, is similar to the BBC weather presenter Helen Willetts."

In 2005, Carr hosted the Channel 4 show "The 100 Greatest Cartoons", as voted for by the viewers. He very appropriately (or predictably) signed off at the end with, "That's all, folks!".
