When she and the rest of the cast went on [[Blue Peter]], Sarah was persuaded by the editor, Biddy Baxter, to audition for the show as a replacement for Tina Heath, who was due to leave to have a baby. The audition was successful and Sarah has never looked back since!

Biography

Best known for her work presenting children's programmes (Blue Peter 1980-3, Saturday Superstore 83-7, Going Live! 87-93), Sarah's other work includes the odd spot of acting (most famously playing herself in Ghostwatch) and various things for daytime telly including stints on This Morning. She also co-presented, with Simon Mayo, an interesting early 1990's science and environmental series called "Life On One".

Trivia

She and Mike Smith survived a dramatic helicopter crash in 1988. They later married.

Her first big break was acting in the children's drama, "The Swish Of The Curtain".
