Born in Leeds in 1974, Moyles joined BBC Radio 1 in 1997, moving from early breakfast to drivetime the next year. Though overlooked for promotion to breakfast in 2000, he succeeded Sara Cox in 2004, and remained on the flagship programme until replaced by Nick Grimshaw in September 2012.
Moyles is a fan of game shows in general; regular features on his radio shows included Viaduct, based on the Two Ronnies' "Answering the Question Before" sketch, and Carpark Catchphrase.
His television work includes a comedy programme for Play UK, and Live With... for Channel 5. Neither programme was re-commissioned.
Trivia
Moyles is a fan of Leeds United.
His sidekick "Comedy" Dave Vitty has also been involved in a few game shows.
