The 100 Most Popular Game Shows
One question you almost certainly haven't been asking yourself is "What are the 100 most popular articles on this site?". Well, tough, because we have and you can see the result of our Greatest Game Shows - it lists stalwarts like The Crystal Maze and Interceptor to surprises such as Kate Thornton's Dishes. Who knew?
While UKGameshows.com is (even if we say so ourselves) the most comprehensive guide to the genre anywhere on - or off - the web, with over 2100 programmes already in our database it is inevitable that even we're stumped sometimes. So we're asking for your help. A number of our "most wanted" shows are now listed here and a team of volunteers is standing by, waiting to add your contributions to our compendium of game show knowledge. Go on, help us out. The BBC has commissioned 10 new episodes of the hit comedy panel show Would I Lie to You?. The ninth series will consist of eight regular episodes, a Christmas special and an unseen bits compilation.
The European Broadcasting Union has announced that Australia has been invited to compete in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The contest has a strong following Down Under, and in recognition of this, the country has been granted a wildcard entry into the final. The EBU has said this is a one-off to mark the contest's 60th anniversary, but should they win, Australia will be allowed to defend their title in a European city in 2016. Organisers have also not ruled out allowing other guest countries to compete in the future.
Dragon Piers Linney has announced he will be leaving the Den. His announcement follows that of fellow Dragons Kelly Hoppen and Duncan Bannatyne who will also being leaving at the end of the current series. Linney and Hoppen have both been Dragons for two years, while Bannatyne has been with the programme since it began in 2005.
Dara O'Briain has decided to quit his hosting duties on The Apprentice spin-off show "The Apprentice: You're Fired" as he'll be focusing more on his stand-up comedy roots. He will be doing his new stand-up comedy tour coming later this year.
Nick Hewer has described his decision as a "relief tinged with regret" to not be Lord Sugar's aide for future series of The Apprentice. The 70-year-old PR expert explained in his statement that "I've been pondering my departure from The Apprentice for a while and have decided that year 10 is the appropriate time." He will still be hosting Countdown.
