Bolton-born comic actor whose best-known roles include the nonsense-spouting cultural commentator Philomena Cunk from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe and numerous spin-offs; chaotic mum Liz in the sitcom Motherland; and the disaster-magnet title character of Mandy which she created and directs.
