Gay Byrne


Legendary Irish broadcaster, most of whose career has been spent in the Republic, where he hosted influential talk shows on TV and radio from the 1960s to the 1990s. He has been described as "the most famous Irish broadcaster in history" and "the man who changed Ireland".

He died on 4 November 2019, aged 85.
