Middlesbrough-born actor who appeared in several Norman Wisdom films, usually playing upper-crust characters coming into conflict with Wisdom. He was also known for presenting Housewives' Choice on BBC radio's Light Programme. He committed suicide in 1967 after a bout of depression following the death of his wife.


He appeared in the Carry On film, Carry On Regardless.

May very well be a candidate for the pettiest ever firing; if ATV were to be believed, some viewers had 'not liked the way he put on and took off his glasses' when reading out questions.
