Quiz Time, Gentlemen, Please!
Synopsis
"Pubs all over Britain compete in a new knock-out competition which combines darts and general knowledge" say the Radio Times. Not only that, but it was actually broadcast live from a different pub each week.
A dartboard was divided into twelve areas, each marked with a subject, and play progressed around the board. In each of the twelve rounds, each team's designated darts player had to place darts in the correct sector, scoring 5, 10 or 15 for each of three darts, with their team-mates then answering a question to claim the points.
Champions
The Elm Park, Hornchurch, who beat The Bowling Green, Lincoln in the final. Neither pub exists anymore, closing within a few weeks of each other in 2014.
Charles Palmer, landlord of the winning establishment, receives the series trophy from Keith Fordyce
