Roy Plomley
Biography
Former advertising copywriter and radio broadcaster most famous as the devisor of "which records would you take to a desert island" show, Desert Island Discs which he also presented from 1942 until his death in 1985. It's now the third longest running series in British radio history.
Trivia
Desert Island Discs moved to TV briefly in 1985 as My Favourite Things.
"Desert Island Discs with Roy Plomley" is an anagram of Host mildly insisted we play records.
