The 100 Most Popular Game Shows
One question you almost certainly haven't been asking yourself is "What are the 100 most popular articles on this site?". Well, tough, because we have and you can see the result of our Greatest Game Shows - now updated for 2022 and ranging from stalwarts like The Crystal Maze and Interceptor to, er, Man O Man. Who knew?
While UKGameshows.com is (even if we say so ourselves) the most comprehensive guide to the genre anywhere on - or off - the web, with over 2100 programmes already in our database it is inevitable that even we're stumped sometimes. So we're asking for your help. A number of our "most wanted" shows are now listed here and a team of volunteers is standing by, waiting to add your contributions to our compendium of game show knowledge. Go on, help us out. After the success of the second series' extended 16-episode run of Popmaster TV, Channel 4 have commissioned a third and fourth series of the show. Contestant applications are now open.
Next year's series of Britain's Got Talent will begin airing in February rather than its usual April start. The auditions will air on Saturdays as usual but the semi-finals will now air weekly on Saturdays rather than being stripped across a week. This is to fill a huge hole Saturday Night Takeaway has left in the Saturday night winter schedules.
Amazon Prime Video has announced a UK version of LOL: Last One Laughing with Jimmy Carr as host. The show puts comedians in a locked room and eliminates them if they make each other laugh. More than 20 versions of the show have been made, including an Irish version hosted by Graham Norton. The UK version is planned for release in 2025.
After the BBC's recent ratings success with Gladiators, ITV have announced a short two episode run of You Bet! with Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby as hosts. The revival will be produced by Rollercoaster Television and will air in the autumn.
The BBC announced another civilian and celebrity series for Bridge of Lies after the third civilian series reached an audience of 1.4 million and the second celebrity series achieving a peak of 2.3 million viewers. The fourth civilian series will again be comprised of 25 episodes and the third celebrity series will be extended to 10 episodes. Both series will air in early 2025.
