Biography
Best known for her work presenting children's programmes (Blue Peter 1980-3, Saturday Superstore 83-7, Going Live! 87-93), Sarah's other work includes the odd spot of acting (most famously playing herself in Ghostwatch) and various things for daytime telly including stints on This Morning. She also co-presented, with Simon Mayo, an interesting early 1990's science and environmental series called "Life On One".
Trivia
She and Mike Smith survived a dramatic helicopter crash in 1988. They later married.
Her first big break was acting in the children's drama, "The Swish Of The Curtain". When she and the rest of the cast went on Blue Peter, Sarah was persuaded by the editor, Biddy Baxter, to audition for the show as a replacement for Tina Heath, who was due to leave to have a baby. The audition was successful and Sarah has never looked back since!
