While UKGameshows.com is (even if we say so ourselves) the most comprehensive guide to the genre anywhere on - or off - the web, with over 2100 programmes already in our database it is inevitable that even we're stumped sometimes. The death has been announced of Caroline Flack, aged 40, after a trial by media following her 12 December arrest. She won the 2014 series of Strictly Come Dancing and had presented a series of The X Factor with Olly Murs but was best known for presenting the first five series of the revival of Love Island.
28 January Nicholas Parsons
The death has been announced of Nicholas Parsons, aged 96, after a short illness. Although his showbiz career spanned three quarters of a century, Parsons was best known for chairing Just a Minute from its inception in 1967, as well as Sale of the Century. 16 January 2020 Sandi's leaving the tent
Sandi Toksvig has announced that she is leaving The Great British Bake Off in order to focus on other work commitments. Her final series will be the next series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, due to air in the spring. Searches for a replacement are underway.
