- The Bubble (Hat Trick for BBC Two) Celebs are cut off from the outside world for four days, then asked to determine which news stories from that period are true and which are made up. Piloted with David Mitchell as host, commission not yet confirmed.
- Just Dance (Shine TV/Princess Productions for Sky1) The X Factor for dancers as nationwide auditions in front of a judging panel lead to studio-based finals where the public ultimately decide the winner.
- Restaurant in Our Living Room (Rain Media for Virgin 1) Two couples go head-to-head as they prepare for, and then stage a dinner party in their own homes, with their guests paying what they think the meal was worth. The couple with the highest takings wins a meal in any restaurant in the world.
- Relic (CBBC in-house) - Six children stay overnight in the British Museum where they must successfully answer questions and complete a series of challenges in order not to be incarcerated in the museum forever.
- Britain's Best Brain (Group M / Tiger Aspect for Five) - Allegedly ""television’s toughest ever test", challenging people to perform feats of mental agility "in high stress conditions". Will be part-funded by Nintendo.
- Family Cook Off (Shine TV for Good Food) Part funded by the Food Standards Agency to promote healthy eating. Amanda Lamb and chef Paul Merret judge as families go head-to-head in a knock-out format cooking competition.
- Clever Vs Stupid (BBC Wales for BBC Three) - stereotypically "clever" people such as physicists and rubik cube champions are pitted against stereotypically "stupid" people such as hairdressers and call centre workers in a series of practical challenges. To air in the autumn.
- Drop Zone (BBC1 in-house) - Sounding like a cross between Lost and The Amazing Race, teams are dropped by helicopter into an unfamiliar location, where they must complete tasks. Last team back to the helicopter gets left behind and is eliminated.
- Keep Your Enemies Close (CBBC in-house) - Children are paired up with their rivals and given silly things to do.
- School of Silence (Lucky Day for CBBC Channel) - Children are given tasks to do silently. The Subtitlers' Union will be up in arms.
- You Have Been Watching (Zeppotron for Channel 4) - TV-themed panel game hosted by Charlie Brooker.
- Food Fight (Betty for Channel 4) - Culinary panel game with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
- Dancing on Wheels (formerly Wheelchair Dancers) (Fever Media for BBC Three) - celeb/amateur couples compete in a kind of Strictly Dance Fever with wheelchairs.
- Copycats (BBC Scotland for CBBC, filming May/June 2009) - The BBC press release says "Each show pits two families against each other in a variety of exciting and captivating tasks which test players' ability to pass on information." Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes host.
- The QI Test - daytime quiz spin-off from QI. (TalkbackThames for BBC)
- Time of Your Life - game show featuring people facing major life events, hosted by the ever-available Michael McIntyre. (Open Mike for BBC One)
