Action Time was established by Jeremy Fox in 1980, and was later headed by Stephen Leahy. During its lifetime, the company brought a considerable number of American formats to the UK (Catchphrase, All Clued Up, Lucky Ladders etc.), while also creating a number of its own formats.
Action Time was acquired by Carlton Communications in 1996, and closed in 2004 following the merger of Carlton Communications and Granada into ITV plc.
