Biography
Born in Ireland to a Greek mother and English father, Julia Bradbury grew up in Sheffield and worked for a while in her mother's fashion business before becoming a presenter on small cable channels. She got her big break in 1996 when she became GMTV's Los Angeles correspondent, and went on to present various entertainment/gossip-type programmes.
She presented the consumer affairs show Watchdog (with Nicky Campbell) for some years but is nowadays associated mainly with programmes about the great outdoors, most prominently Countryfile. Her other programmes have included the fell-walking series Wainwright Walks, the Ultimate Rock Climb special for a BBC season on ways of enjoying the great outdoors (most of which seemed to involve a high risk of serious injury, for some reason), and latterly Railway Walks, walking the length of old decommissioned railways, and South Africa Walks.
Trivia
She used to work on the infamous L!VE TV before transferring to terrestrial.
She co-presented the preview show on Channel 5 with Tim Vine, featuring clips of the upcoming shows on the new station.
