Celador was founded in 1983 and apart from its game shows is known for making various series with Jasper Carrott (who is also a director of the company). In March 2006 it announced plans to sell off its TV production and formats divisions (starting with the rights to Who Wants to be a Millionaire?) in order to concentrate on its radio business.
