Celador was founded in 1983 and apart from its game shows is known for making various series with Jasper Carrott (who is also a director of the company).
In March 2006 it announced plans to sell off its TV production and formats divisions (starting with the rights to Who Wants to be a Millionaire?) in order to concentrate on its radio business. After a short bidding war, Dutch media company 2waytraffic acquired the formats division (Celador International, now 2waytraffic International), while Celador Productions itself was the subject of a management buyout and now concentrates mostly on producing radio comedy shows.
